While elected to the Billings City Council, Denis has worked hard on the following projects and served on committees to make our community better, safer, and a place to live, work and raise a family!
These projects include:
- Skyway Drive, the first phase of the Inner Belt Loop
- Aronson Drive
- Bench Blvd
- Alkali Creek Road Project
- Airport Road Project
- Outer Connection project linking Lockwood to Billings Heights and Roundup
- Oasis Water Park in Billings Heights
- Light Signal at St. Andrews and Wicks Lane
- Water issues in Alkali Creek
Denis served on various committees including:
- Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery Board, Active in getting the cemetery as a National Cemetery
- National League of Cities
- Energy, Environment and Natural Resources Steering Committee
- Families and Children Committee
- Montana League of Cities and Towns
- Billings District Representative
- Elected a Deputy Mayor Pro-Temp for the City of Billings
- Alternate for the City of Billings on the PCC
Denis is also a member of the following organizations:
- Past-President - Heights Kiwanis
- Past-President - Heights Business Optimist club
- Past Chair of Heights Community Development Task Force
- Board Member of the Friends of the USS Billings LSC15.
Family Life
Denis married Paula at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Billings Heights in 1994 and they have 7 children, Patrick (Emily), Joseph, Diandra, Rene, Daniel, Emily and Ryan. Denis and Paula have 2 grandsons, Kroy and Zayd, and are expecting their first granddaughter in the summer of 2021.
Professional Background
Denis was born in Butte Montana, and raised in Billings Heights. Graduating from Billings Senior in 1984. He earned a BA in Liberal Arts and Behavioral Science from Mt. Angel Seminary College in 1988 and then attended Graduate School of Theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake Mundelein IL. In 1992 he completed a degree in Mortuary Science and became a licensed mortician in the State of Montana, and remains active in this profession. Denis became a real estate agent in 2015 and is currently a referral agent with Magic City Real Estate . Denis is the owner of a property management company Pitman and Associates, managing properties in Yellowstone County, and Treasure State Tire Supplies where he manufactures and distributes a product call TIRE SAVERS.
